Because the LTC output is regenerated from the decoded position rather than passed through, a ragged signal in becomes a clean signal out. It’s a converter and a reclocker in the same box.

The LTC output is regenerated from the chased position. Jittery signal in, clean signal out.
Free-run generator with jam-to-clock and a 24-hour wrap, clocked by the audio device so LTC audio out is sample-locked.
The audio device’s output latency is measured and compensated automatically. One trim dials in your receiver.
Point it at a song, choose the timecode it should start at, and get a new WAV — music on one channel, continuously running LTC on the other, pre-roll included. The first beat lands exactly on the timecode you asked for.
Every striped file is decoded again after writing, and the result is reported. You find out at your desk — not at the venue.
Timecode is unforgiving — it either lines up or the show looks broken. The engineering reflects that.
No real-time decode during playbackThe timecode channel is scanned once at load and fitted to the sample clock — which is also how 29.97 is told apart from 30, a 0.1% difference no live decoder can call.
